Project One (2)

There are the photos that I chose from the second time taking pictures for Project One.

The weather is not very good yesterday. It was cloudy, thus the light is not good.

The first and the second pictures was taken in St. Peter's on Willis Church. The third to fifth photos are from St. Mary of the Angel Church.

The reason that I chose Church for Project One is that I found that religion is power for a country. People believe God, they will come together to prayer, to talk about Bible and to share how God help them. Especially in Sunday many people will go to different Church with their family or friends. I want to figure out why people chose God to believe, because I believe myself. Nothing can change my believe. Several time I walk on the street or taking pictures in the Church, people would like to ask me to talk to the priest and go to Church on Sunday. I try to go to Church with my friend on Sunday.
I went to different Churchs, but one thing I can be sure to tell is the power and the spirit of God is very strong. When I was in the Church with my friend, people were singing the song about God and their eyes and their behavior are the same. It is possible that the spirit is very deep in their mind. When I try to follow them I feel warm and comfortable, becasue it makes me feel that we are a big family. It also can reduce little my homesick. So I took photos in the Church is to show the power of the Church for the country and the spirit of the God for people.

The first two photos are St. Peter's on Willis Church. We can see behind each bench, there are many Bibles for people to read. Although the Church not very big, but the spirit is strong engouh.

The third and fourth pictures is to illustrates that St. Mary of the Angel Chur is great and powerful.
when I was taking photos in the Church, a kind woman asked me to take good care of my bag, because someone will steal things in the Church. We did not know each other, but she still told me about this. I also feel warm and moved about it.

The last photo is to show how people prayer. The Candles is some people lighted them after prayer.

"The City" that he works on composition is very special, because he will not use symmetrical in composition in those photos. Also, the colour he use in the photos is bright colour which can emphasize  the objects in the picture.

He said "In my newest body of work "The City" I have imagined a city of our future, where something either natural or as the result of mankind, has emptied the city of it's human inhabitants. Art museums, Broadway theaters, laundromats and bars no longer function. The walls are deteriorating, the ceilings are falling in, the structures barely stand, yet Mother Nature is slowly taking them over. These spaces are filled with flora, fauna and insects, reclaiming what was theirs before man's encroachment. I am afraid of what the future holds if we do not change our ways regarding the climate, but at the same time I am fascinated by what a changing world can bring. "

Project One First chosen photos

I chose pictures in three Church, because another Church is similar to the one I chose to post.
The reason that I want to take photos inside the Church is that I want to know the different in those Church and how people use their own way to believe God.
When I went to four different Church, I found that different kind of people go to different Church.
Different Church also have different atmosphere. However, the most important thing is that they all believe God. People using different way to express themselves in different Church.
I remember I went to those Church is in the lunch time, thus no people in the Church.

The fist two photos are taken in Congregational Church that is very simple and not very big.
Nonetheless, one picture in the window allure me so much. I cannot help to take photo of it, which is the second photo of Congregational Church
I do not think the photo can present my impression of the picuture in the back window.  I plan to use medium shot to take this  photo angain in my final work of first project.

The third photo is in St. Mary of the Angels Parish Church that has very strong Christian atmosphere. The Church is very beautiful and has many seats for people. The fourth photo is a part of space in the Church, there are many candles that left me a deep impression. I also heard that candles represent life, while after people prayer, they can light up the candles. That is why I took this photo to represent one of characteristics in this Church is different from others. I do not like the composition of the fourth picture, because it lack of balance, espcially some speace on the left make the photo become worse. Besides, it is not necessary for me to contian many seats inside the photo. I will improve it in my final work of the project one.

The fifth picture has a characteristic is that there are some Bibles provide for people in the St. Peter's on Willis Church. This Church use wood to decorate the Church, almost every thing in the Churh is make by wood. Though the Church not very big, it still makes people feel close, because it will offer Bibles for people. It probable means welcome to become a new Chritian or you can free to come to Church to read Bible and prayer. The sixth photo is the important setting in Church, but people cannot go inside. The fifth picture is lack of balance, there is something useless and affect the composition in the left of the photo. I will try to reduce this problem in the final work of project one.

The photo is view of part of  Wellington in Mount Victoria.
This picture of Panorama is the one I use another way which I think is successful finally.
There are two kinds of mistakes I made while did the task, which are using camera, technical skills in Photoshop.

Firstly, I borrow a camera from campus, but I did not have tripod. This cause I took series of pictures that did not work well to make panorama. some photos cannot combine to each other. That is why I took pictures several times and  I chose top of Mount Victoria to took photos at last. I also took three times of Panorama in Mount Victoria. Although two series of pictures fail to march each other, I find one series of photos is better than those.

Secondly, the technical skills  cost me lots of time to merge photos. The reasons is that I do not know how to drag photos in the panorama layer I have made, I have photoshop 3 that cannot use victor mask. The more I cannot combine the photos, the harder I work. Therefore, I chose to use Photoshops 4 and also download Photoshop 5 to try to combine the pictures.
I follow the step in "Technical PPT Week 1 in Panorama", when I used photoshop 4, made a new layer named panorama, then open every photo which use to make panorama and put into panorama one by one, while finished, I can use Vector, but cannot not use the brush. I try angain and still fail to use the brush.

Eventually, I download Photoshop 5 that is try to use for 30 days, to make panorama. I did very thing again as in Photoshop 4, the problem also in brush, I cannot use the brush in my combined photo. I use 'Automate' to make Panorama.
I plan to ask lecture of tutor on Tuesday to make it again.
